24-25 PTSA Programs, Activities, & Events (select to expand)

100 Mile Running Club (year round)

The PTSA organizes this fun program every year, where 1st-5th grade students run in the morning before school out on the blacktop by the playground with the goal of trying to run 100 miles over the course of the year. The program usually runs a few days a week before school (typically between 8-8:20am) from October to May. Specific sign-up requests will go out sometime after school starts.

Running club depends on weekly, committed volunteers who will sign up for a day a week. Interested in volunteering? Email Kelly Soemantoro at Ksoemantoro@gmail.com.

Hawes Library (year round)

We are excited that the old Accelerated Reader (AR) library and the Hawes Library are merging this year to create one Hawesome library! Accelerated Reader (AR) is a supplemental incentive-based reading program offered to all students to improve reading comprehension.  Each 1st-5th grade student has an AR goal each trimester and must read AR books and complete AR tests to earn AR points to reach their goal. At Hawes, we need PTSA Volunteers to support maintaining the library. Interested in volunteering? Email Emily Selna at Eselna@gmail.com.
